President Muhammadu Buhari has collected his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).
The presentation followed the re-election of Buhari as Nigeria’s President for another four year term.
Buhari arrived the International Conference Centre, Abuja at 2pm in company of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
First to receive his certificate was Osinbajo, followed by the President.
INEC Chairman,professor Mahmood Yakubu who did the presentation, said it was in compliance with the electoral Act, which stipulates that it be presented to the winner within 7days.
Buhari while making a remark, said his commitment to building a united country has not waned.
He equally condemned the Killings that trailed the election in some parts of the country, reiterating that elections should not be a do-or-die affair.
“We have no other motive than to serve Nigeria with all our hearts and minds. I thank the electorate for the confidence repose in me, I assure you that we will see the country moving to the next level. We will also recommit to fighting corruption, strengthening the economy and security, “he stated.
Buhari defeated the former Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar with over 3million vote margin to continue as President for another four year term.
