The Governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has denied rumours of his sack.
Emefiele who assumed office in June, twenty fourteen said his tenure expires in June, twenty nineteen.
The apex bank governor who made the denial on Tuesday at a meeting with stakeholders in the cotton value chain in Abuja said he remains optimistic that CBN interventions will continue irrespective of who is the apex bank Governor.
He noted that the interventions date back to the seventies and does not see why any Governor will want to abandon the laudable initiatives already introduced.
Emefiele’s first five year tenure ends in June, though he could be reappointed for another five year term .
