Security agents have surrounded the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, in anticipation of the #RevolutionNow protest march scheduled to hold today.
A van belonging to an Internal Security Operational platform made up of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force, Operation MESA was seen parked around the stadium
Their presence at the stadium follows the planned revolution protest organized against bad governance in the country by Omoyele Sowore, publisher of the online medium, Sahara Reporters.
Sowore had been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services at his home on Saturday on allegations of inciting the public against government
According to the DSS, “Sowore was arrested for threatening public safety, peaceful co-existence and social harmony in the country’”
The agency had warned Nigerians to disregard the “threat of revolution” issued by Sowore, however, organisers of the protest say they will not be deterred by the arrest of their leader, Sowore.
