Reports say scores of people in Taaba and Okwali in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State have been killed and houses razed following violent attacks on the community on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The incident was said to occured around 6: 00 p.m. on Tuesday after some unidentified youths entered and raided Taaba community killing an unconfirmed number of persons and another attack on Okawli community on Wednesday morning left some more people dead.
The attackers suspected to be cultists attacked the communities targeting their perceived enemies in both villages and shooting indiscriminately.
Reports say residents have fled the area following the attack and fear of stray bullets
The Rivers state police public relations officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident, adding that the command had deployed its men to the affected communities to immediately restore order.
