Security operatives have fired tear gas at unarmed protesters at the National Stadium in Lagos.
The protesters who sang revolutionary songs had defied Federal Government order banning them from holding the #RevolutionNow protest called by the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr. Omoyele Sowore.
Though shots were also reportedly fired, no casualty was recorded.
Security agents under the aegis of OP MESA, a joint Internal Security Operational platform made up of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force, had surrounded the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, in the early hours of Monday, preventing people from entering the public structure.
